F.A.Q

Frequently Asked Questions on Specular Tempus

Q : If only one input is used will I get a mono output or stereo output?
A :
You will get stereo outputs, just make sure the input goes to the Left Input (mono).

Q : Can I do tap-tempo on the pedal itself without using external tap tempo pedal?
A :
Yes you can. There is an option to configure footswitch B as a preset button or as a tap-tempo button.

Q : I love my Specular Reverb V2, but this looks like a nice upgrade! Will I still be able to dial the sounds of V2 with Tempus?
A : Absolutely. All the sounds of SR V2/V3 has been retained and expanded with additional parameters and functionalities for deeper tweaking.

Q : Does Specular Tempus have Global tempo mode?
A :
Yes it does
. You can set the scope of tempo uniquely for each preset. So for example you can set preset 1A and 2A to work on a local tempo while the other presets share a global tempo.

Q : When I call a preset that contains delay algorithm the tempo value doesn't seem to get updated to the tempo as was stored in that preset, what's going on?
A :
You might have unintentionally activated Global tempo option for that presets
. Make sure Local tempo option is selected instead.

Q : Does Specular Tempus have spillover when changing presets?
A :
It has spillover only if both the source preset and destination preset contain the same algorithm
AND the same virtual parameters setting.

Q : Can Specular Tempus receive MIDI Clock signal?
A :
Yes, beginning with firmware V3.7
.

Q : How do I access the higher preset pages? Do I really need an external switchbox or MIDI to access all 32 presets?
A :
You can reach higher pages on the pedal alone by simply doing Bank Up, for example if you are currently in Page 1 - Bank 4 then doing Bank Up one more time will take you to Page 2 - Bank 5, and so on. So you don't need to use any external devices to access all 32 presets.

If you are not able to get to Page 2 it maybe that you had 'Page access limit' set to 1. Page access limit sets the number of pages you can access, for example if you set the limit to 3 pages, then you can only go as far as Page 3 - Bank 12. Use the Speclab software to set the page limit, it's in Global Configuration.

Q : Can I use 3rd party offerings for the Aux expansion switches?
A  :
Sure, as long as the switches conforms to our specifications : Momentary, and Normally-Opened (N/O).

Q : Your Triple Switch looks great, but I prefer to build my own switchbox, can you help me with the technical specs?
A :
Here's a schematic you can use to build your own Aux expanson switchbox
.
